Citizenship by Descent

Claim citizenship that may already be yours.

Many of our clients hold a latent right to citizenship by descent — through an Italian great-grandparent, an Irish grandmother, a Polish or German ancestor displaced in the twentieth century, or another heritage line. Where this right exists and can be substantiated, citizenship by descent is generally faster, cheaper, and more straightforward than an investment-based application.

Through our partner network of specialist counsel in each ancestry jurisdiction, we coordinate the document research, archival retrieval, certified translations, and consular filing required to convert a heritage right into a recognised citizenship.

What we coordinate

• Italian (jure sanguinis) — through paternal or maternal lines, including post-1948 cases
• Irish — through a parent, grandparent, or in some cases great-grandparent
• Polish — including reinstatement following Holocaust-era denaturalisation
• German — under StAG §15 and other restoration grounds
• Hungarian, Lithuanian, Greek, Spanish (Sephardic), Portuguese, Czech — subject to evidentiary requirements

Citizenship-by-descent work is highly document-intensive and outcomes turn on the strength of the documentary record. We do the eligibility review and engagement strategy in-house and coordinate all archival and consular work through specialist counsel admitted in the relevant jurisdiction. All third-party fees are disclosed in your engagement letter.
